Trading volume represents the total amount of a cryptocurrency that has been traded over a specific time period, most commonly 24 hours. It's a key indicator of market activity, liquidity, and investor interest.

Formula: 24h Volume = Sum of all trades in 24 hours (in USD or native token)

Types of Volume:

Spot Volume: - Actual buying and selling of assets - Real exchange of cryptocurrency - Most relevant for price discovery

Derivatives Volume: - Futures, options, perpetuals - Often many times larger than spot - Can influence spot prices

On-Chain Volume: - Transfers on the blockchain - Includes non-exchange transactions - Doesn't always mean trading
