A cryptographic secret that proves ownership of a blockchain address and is required to sign transactions, essentially serving as the password to your crypto wallet.
A private key is a 256-bit random number that serves as the ultimate proof of ownership for a blockchain address. Anyone who knows a private key has complete control over the associated funds. Private keys are used to sign transactions, proving to the network that the owner authorized the transfer.
How Private Keys Work:
