TVL

別名: Total Value Locked

The total value of cryptocurrency assets deposited in a DeFi protocol, used to measure the protocol's size and adoption.

Total Value Locked (TVL) represents the aggregate value of all crypto assets deposited into a DeFi protocol. It is one of the most important metrics for evaluating decentralized finance platforms, indicating both user trust and protocol adoption.

What Counts Toward TVL: - Assets staked in lending protocols - Liquidity provided to decentralized exchanges (DEXs) - Collateral locked in synthetic asset platforms - Funds in yield farming strategies - Assets in liquid staking protocols

Why TVL Matters: - Protocol Health: Higher TVL suggests more user confidence - Liquidity Depth: More TVL means better trading/borrowing conditions - Comparison: Allows ranking protocols within categories - Yield Sustainability: TVL affects reward dilution

TVL Considerations:

Inflated TVL: - Double-counting across protocols - Recursive depositing (depositing LP tokens as collateral) - Native token value inflation

TVL Limitations: - Doesn't reflect actual usage or revenue - Can drop quickly if token prices fall - May not indicate protocol profitability - Incentivized TVL (from token rewards) may be temporary

Leading TVL Protocols (2026): Major DeFi protocols like Lido, Aave, MakerDAO, and Uniswap consistently rank among the highest TVL across chains like Ethereum, Solana, and others.
