All-Time High

Também conhecido como: ATH

The highest price ever recorded for a cryptocurrency since its listing, serving as a key psychological and technical level for traders.

An all-time high (ATH) is the maximum price a cryptocurrency has ever reached in its trading history. Breaking through an ATH is considered a significant bullish signal because it means there is no overhead resistance from holders waiting to "break even" on previous purchases.

Why ATH Matters:

  • No Resistance Above: Once an asset passes its ATH, there are no bag holders looking to sell at breakeven, which can fuel rapid price discovery
  • FOMO Trigger: New ATHs attract media attention and retail investors
  • Confidence Signal: Indicates strong demand exceeding all historical selling pressure
  • Portfolio Milestone: Investors use ATH as a reference for profit-taking

Notable Crypto ATHs:

CryptoATH PriceDateCurrent vs. ATH
Bitcoin~$109,000Jan 2025Varies
Ethereum~$4,890Nov 2021Varies
Solana~$295Jan 2025Varies

ATH Distance: The "distance from ATH" metric shows how far a token has fallen from its peak. A token trading 90% below its ATH may indicate either a buying opportunity or a project in decline, depending on fundamentals.

Trading Around ATHs: - Breakouts above ATH often lead to parabolic moves in crypto - Failed ATH tests (where price approaches but cannot break through) can trigger sharp selloffs - Volume confirmation is important: high-volume ATH breaks are more sustainable - Many traders set profit-taking targets at round numbers above ATH

Caution: Buying at ATH can be risky. Many investors who bought Bitcoin at its 2021 ATH waited years to recover. Using ATH as the sole buying signal without considering fundamentals, market conditions, and position sizing is a common mistake.
